Badlands National Park is open all day, 24 hours, every single day of the year. In case you’re interested, the park is within the Mountain Time Zone. Okay, now that’s sorted, the park is open all day, every day, but the visitors centers and other facilities of course, are not.

Badlands National Park – Ben Reifel Visitor Center – remember these hours are in the Mountain Time Zone. The visitor center is located at the Badlands National Park HQ, on Cedar Pass Badlands Loop Road, Hwy 240.

  • Winter time – 8am – 4pm
  • Mid April through to mid May – 8am – 5pm
  • Summer time – 7am – 7pm
  • Early September through to late October – 8am – 5pm

Please note that the Ben Reifel Visitor Center at Badlands National Park is closed for Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Years Day.

Badlands National Park – White River VisitorĀ  – this visitor center is open during the summer months only. It is located around 20 miles to the south of Scenic, SD, on Hwy 27, on the Pine Ridge Reservation. When it is open it has a staffed information desk, restrooms, exhibits, water and picnic tables.
