Bryce Canyon National Park is open all day, every day throughout the year. Roads are sometimes closed temporarily during the winter after severe winter storms and snow falls, but it doesn’t usually take long to get them plowed, sanded and re-opened. If you’re thinking of visiting Bryce Canyon National Park in the winter time however, it’s always best to check out the condition of the roads before you leave home (incidentally, Bryce Canyon National Park is beautiful in the summer, but many people believe that the contrast of the snow against the red rocks really makes the winter Bryce Canyon National Park even more spectacular).

Facilities at Bryce Canyon National Park

The park is open all year round, but the free shuttle service to the most popular viewpoints over Bryce Canyon National Park only runs from May through October. The visitor center at Bryce Canyon National Park does remain open, with the following operating hours;

  • Summer opening, from May through September – 8am – 8pm
  • Fall opening, during October – 8am – 6pm
  • Winter opening, from November through March – 8am – 4.30pm
  • Spring opening, during April – 8am – 6pm

Bryce Canyon National Park visitors center is, however, closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Years Day – well, even Park Rangers need a little family time every now and then.

You’ll find the Bryce Canyon National Park visitor center around 1.5 miles inside the northern boundary, which is approximately 4.5 miles south of the intersection of Highways 12 and 63.

There’s lots of great stuff to see at the Bryce Canyon Visitor Center and Museum.
