Zion National Park is open all day, every day of the year, but it doesn’t necessarily follow that all of the services and facilities are too. Some of the services and facilities do close, or at least reduce their opening hours during parts of the year.

Zion National Park Facilities

Zion Canyon Visitor Center – the place where all of the directions to Zion National Park send you. Open all year except 25 December, with the following hours;

  •  October 29 until April 21 – open daily from 8am – 5pm
  • April 22 through to May 24 – open from 8am – 6pm
  • May 25 until September 3 – open 8am – 7.30pm
  • September 4 until October 28 – open 8am – 6pm


Zion Canyon Back Country Desk

  • October 29 until April 21open daily from 8am – 4.30pm
  • April 22 until May 24 – open 7am until 6pm
  • May 25 until September 3 – open 7am until 7.30pm
  • September 4 through to October 28 – open 7am – 6pm

Zion Human History Museum

  • October 29 to April 21 – open 10am until 5pm, but closed between November 28 and February 3
  • April 22 until May 24 – open from 10am until 6pm
  • May 25 to September 3 – open from 9am until 7pm
  • September 4 to October 28 – 9am – 6pm

Kolob Canyons Visitor Center

  • October 29 to April 21 – 9am until 5pm, but closed on November 24 and December 25
  • April 22 to May 24 – open between 8am and 5pm
  • May 25 to September 3 – open from 8am until 6pm
  • September 4 to October 28 – open 8am until 5pm

Zion Nature Center

  • October 29 to April 21 – Closed
  • April 22 to May 24 – Closed
  • May 25 to September 3 – open from 12 noon until 5pm
  • September 4 until October 28 – Closed

Zion National Park Shuttle Service

There are two shuttle services which run daily to Zion National Park, the Zion Canyon Shuttle and the Springdale Shuttle. Operating hours vary with the seasons but the average wait for a bus is only around 15 minutes or less.

Zion National Park Campgrounds

The three main campgrounds at Zion National Park are Watchman Campground, with 185 sites, South Campground which has 126 sites and Lava Point Campground which has only 6 sites. Group campsites are also available. All campgrounds are open throughout the year.
