Bering Land Bridge National Preserve really is as it says, a bridge to the past, to the present and to the future. Connecting Asia with North America, in 1991 this unique location was given the status of an international heritage park by an agreement with President George HW Bush and Mikhail Gorbachev.  Archaeologists have a unique opportunity at Bering Land Bridge National Preserve to study the past, while the native Inupiat still live from the land as their ancestors have done so for many generations. Bering Land Bridge National Preserve has 5 shelter cabins, some of the originals left by gold miners, and many natives still use and rely on them to this day.  A visit to Bering Land Bridge National Preserve really is a chance to step back in time.
