National Mall & Memorial Parks

  • Where are they?: – Washington D.C., DC

National Mall & Memorial Parks were officially established back in 1965 to protect much of the parkland which was already in the system, as it were. National Mall & Memorial Parks are a group of parks and places of interest where people can visit to honor the sacrifice and courage of war veterans, commemorate presidential legacies and generally get all patriotic and celebrate the commitment of the US to freedom and equality. These important memorial sites include:

  • George Mason Memorial
  • Constitution Gardens
  • Old Post Office Tower
  • John Ericsson Memorial
  • Pennsylvania Ave National Historic Site

as well as many icons

  • Lincoln Memorial
  • Washington Monument
  • Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial
  • Thomas Jefferson Memorial
  • Korean War Veterans Memorial
  • World War II Memorial
  • Vietnam Veterans Memorial
