- Recreation Activities: Auto Touring · Biking · Camping · Educational Programs · Fishing · Hiking · Wildlife Viewing
Prince William Forest Park (nothing to do with the Royal Wedding in the UK, by the way, in case you were wondering) is a very special place. Not only is it an oasis of truly natural beauty, but we’re not the first ones who think so – there is evidence of human history reaching all the way back to 8000 B.C., and that’s a very long time ago. Although it’s only 35 miles from Washington, you really will think that you’re in another world. There are 37 miles of hiking trails in Prince William Forest Park, with 21 miles accessible by bicycle. A wonderful 15,000 acres of forest waiting for you to walk, ride, camp and watch out for the diverse and abundant wildlife.
Prince William Forest Park is undergoing some pretty major stuff at the moment, with Scenic Drive and many of the main park roads being earmarked for re-paving – road closures and single lanes will be inevitable, so check it out before you go.
Thanks Ranger Jenn – see you soon . . .
Hey, Ranger Jenn said we might see some deer – fantastic!
She forgot to mention that though didn’t she?
