Yukon-Charley Rivers National Preserve is in central Alaska along the Canadian border. This is a serious place for serious people who are up for some pretty serious for adventure. Are you up to the challenge?  If you’re not quite up to the whitewater rapids of the Charley River, then maybe a leisurely float along the mighty Yukon is more to your liking (and mine)! However deep your sense of adventure, then the sheer wildness of this place where cultural history meets geology, scenery and wildlife are entangled with remnants of the great gold rush, then this is certainly the place for you.

Yukon-Charley Rivers National Preserve offers many different types of activities – activities for all seasons as it were. In the winter time you can enjoy ski-ing, dog sledding and chilling out on a snowmobile. Another popular way to travel is by canoeing along the Yukon river. This place is in Alaska, and that should tell you something about the type of weather you can expect. It’s officially classified as sub-arctic – cold winters, warmish summers, not much rainfall but high winds an be expected – often.
